What do you enjoy the most about being in your role?

My current role, I enjoy most being able to help individuals with their career paths and their day-to-day work. I have nine people who report to me currently, and I get the opportunity to coach them on a daily or weekly basis. I help them achieve their work goals and also support their career development.

Each of the nine people reporting to me has different career aspirations. I enjoy helping them achieve their current goals, but also focus on the extra skills they're building to move into the next role they desire. Being able to create opportunities for someone to achieve what's next in their career is something I really enjoy as a manager.

From a sales standpoint, I really enjoy talking to customers. Working in the biotech industry, we work with customers who are truly trying to cure cancer or change how we approach disease. They're way smarter than me.

Talking to customers and hearing what they're working on, and then how our products work with their research or solutions, or the tests they're building for cancer detection or eradication, is really interesting. Hearing firsthand how customers use our products is also something I enjoy as a sales rep and a sales manager.
