What do you enjoy the most about being in your industry?
For me, it's seeing how my industry, biotech, pharmaceuticals, is progressing in our understanding and eradication of disease. I think fundamentally, our approach to medicine and diseases is changing at a very root level.
This is based on the work done by my current company, Integrated DNA Technologies, and my previous company, Illumina. They've enabled a better understanding of DNA, RNA, and various diseases.
This includes infectious diseases like Covid, as well as inherited diseases like cancer and a whole host of conditions in between. I really enjoy being in a space that focuses not only on human health but also animal health.
This includes veterinary medicine and tracking wildlife populations over time. Our focus is on life, and being able to accelerate our understanding of it and make life better is really powerful.
I am very much bought into the mission and the work we're doing to enable our customers.
