What is one lesson that you have learned that's proven significant in your career?
Relationship development is essential and has been for my career. That's really what got me my first job at the CIA as an intern, introduced by a friend to an agent there. I asked him about his experience and what the job was like.
That was my introduction to the CIA and the music scene. Relationship development also got me my job at the Forum. I became friends with an agent at CAA who knew I was looking for a role and recommended me to my current boss at the Forum.
Another lesson is that the music industry is full of people who will tell you what you want to hear or tell you something and don't necessarily follow through. My lesson is that you don't want to be one of those people. Since relationships are so important, you really want to be someone who follows through and that people trust.
