What are your main responsibilities within your role?
Success in my role is really about driving revenue to the venue by booking concerts. It's broken down into two key components: the sales and business development side, and project management.
For the sales aspect, I'm responsible for selling the venue to a promoter. It's their responsibility to procure the talent to play at our venue, so we rent out our venue to a promoter who then brings in a concert.
We not only serve the artists, but also their teams, like their managers and agents, and the show promoter. We are the liaison between the promoter and the building, connecting the promoter with the appropriate departments.
We also oversee finances for the show and project manage it from confirmation. Once we lock in a date for the promoter's concert, we manage it all the way through to the show settlement, where we gather all venue costs and close out the show with the promoter, then pay them out what they've made.
