How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
Typically, the most successful agents are extremely persistent, well-spoken, and gregarious. They're friendly people who talk to everybody.
If you take them to a party, they'll know everyone in the room by the end of the night. They likely already know three or four people there they didn't know when they arrived.
Those individuals tend to be very good at the job. There's a strong correlation with people who have done well in collegiate or professional sports.
This is because the challenge and time it takes to succeed here is like training for something. It involves constant rejection before you can succeed.
It's difficult for many people to get started. However, with persistence and initiative, people can become very good at it, but it takes time.
