What are your main responsibilities within your role?
In my current role, I'm a health IT project manager. This means I focus on projects involving electronic medical records, ensuring they stay on schedule, within budget, and within the defined scope of work.
My work is mostly focused on technology implementations that address regulatory or policy requirements, such as those from Medicare and Medicaid. I also work on enhancing solutions to help patients or providers within the EMR, or electronic medical record system.
An example of a project I have is ensuring that our systems accurately reflect staff and patients' chosen name and gender identity. This involves going through all systems to make sure the coding reflects these details.
This is just one example of my day-to-day work. I originally came into technology from an operations background, which involved project management within clinical settings like labs or units. While that's a bit different, I currently work in technology.
