What is your biggest challenge in your role?
My biggest challenge is probably the people management part of it, because no one directly reports to me. I'm an individual contributor, so I have to learn to influence people who are either levels above me or don't report to me.
I need to ask for and direct activity and tasks to get the project done. This requires having good relationships with everyone involved.
We also have to help motivate them, making them feel like they have skin in the game and understand their purpose for the projects we're undertaking. So, definitely, I think people management, which is also related to the communication aspect I mentioned before.
