What does a day in the life of an ACEO and marketing consultant look like?

There is nothing in common from one day to the next. My days all look very different. I spend a certain amount of time every day running and managing the business. That also entails writing a lot of email, following up on a lot of email, and logging into our project management software.

I do this to see where certain projects are at and who on my team needs feedback or help from me, or has questions. I also typically have meetings with clients. One of the things I love about being a small business owner is that I meet directly with our clients.

This is unlike being at the top of a large corporation where others meet with the clients. I get to sit down and interact with other CEOs, executive directors, and leaders who are running their companies and organizations. That's really exciting for me to be able to interact with people who are so amazing at what they do in a field that's not the same as mine. I feel like I'm learning all the time.

I work from home, which is good and bad. It means I have free time and a flexible schedule to do things I enjoy outside of work, such as volunteer work. I do a lot of volunteer work with teenagers, helping them get into college and prepare for life once they're there.

My flexible schedule lets me meet with teenagers and my students in the middle of their school day, or the middle of my workday, I should say. This is flexible around their school day. That's something I wouldn't be able to do if I had a strict nine-to-five corporate job inside of an office.
