How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?

"Organization is a big word. You can't let your paperwork control you; you have to control your paperwork, making sure things are in order during the day and after you've left. This ensures things don't fall through the cracks while you're on vacation.

The risks and consequences of things falling through the cracks are much greater than procrastinating on a homework assignment and forgetting about it. It's a different kind of responsibility.

So, you have to be organized to meet your obligations, ethical and otherwise. Diligence and meticulousness are also key.

At my current firm, we have a phrase: 'to be technically excellent.' I think what that means is you have to be so meticulous about your work that you've checked it, checked it again, and checked it another ten times for different things. The constant strive to be even more perfect and better, on paper and in person, is a big part of this field."
