What are some of the biggest challenges in your current role?
In terms of the biggest challenges, I alluded to this earlier, but it's managing all the personalities on the team. This goes for any job, but there's a different communication style and a different learning style per person. Trying to make sure that you capture all of those essences and the way you communicate them is really important. And so, of course, that's also going to be the most difficult.
On top of that, there's just wrangling people to finish deadlines. Think of any group projects you've had to do; it's always hard when there are too many people in the kitchen. So that's always a hard part of the job, but also a necessary part of the job. That's why program managers exist – to help with that organization.
