What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
I think working for a company with a mission is important. We have a heartfelt mission focused on supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and those who support them, like their employers, parents, and teachers.
The mission extends beyond the individual, working outwards to encompass their support network. This resonates with me, especially now, as research suggests people are increasingly seeking companies whose missions align with their personal values.
I also enjoy the autonomy and the opportunity to be creative. I can problem-solve and implement projects that I believe are necessary.
For example, we brainstormed an idea to create a parent discussion group. This group allows our parent participants from around the world to collaborate and share ideas on various days and times.
This idea originated from a simple conversation, and we've now been implementing it for the past couple of years. It's truly rewarding to work for a company that encourages creativity, allows for brainstorming, and provides the autonomy to bring those ideas to life. I am very thankful for that.
