What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
Being in tech is super great in terms of flexibility. You have flexibility in where you want to work and when you want to work. This is definitely great.
We work with a global company, so we have people in offices everywhere. Typically, you can work in a lot of those different offices. Some people work remotely, some people don't. Having that flexibility to be able to work in a preferable location or move around if you want to is great.
Being in technology is awesome because you work with a lot of smart people every single day. You get to see all this new technology you read about in the news, sometimes before other people or before the news even gets to see it. I think that's a super exciting and motivating part of work.
Lastly, working at a large company like Microsoft offers endless opportunities and flexibility in terms of what role you want to do next. You have endless possibilities within the company. I know many people who have gone from finance managers to engineering managers, managing a team of software engineers.
There are people who go from finance to accounting, from accounting to operations. There's tons of flexibility. If you want to move within finance, you can do that too. You can go from a product group finance manager to treasury, or work in capital markets or M&A. You can really do whatever you want. If you network and know people at the company, it's very flexible in terms of where you want to go.
In terms of growth opportunity, the company is growing really fast, as are most technology companies at this time. So there's a lot of opportunity to grow and rise up the ranks if you work hard.
