What have you learned about this role that you wish someone would've told you before you entered the industry?
I'm in a leadership position on my team and in my part of the company. I wish someone had told me, "Hey Amir, you're going to be a voice and a leader on your team and within your organization."
People are going to listen to you, and whatever comes out of your mouth has an impact. This is especially true when it's intelligent and makes sense.
Before, as an associate or manager, my opinion mattered, but now people actively listen and take action based on what I say. I wish someone had told me that I was getting to a point in my career where if I suggested how to solve something or approach a project, it would actually come to fruition.
That would have been helpful. Now I realize that I have a responsibility to give my best every day and make the best judgment calls I can.
