As a woman in the video game industry, how has that impacted how you've navigated your career?

When I started, the industry was even more heavily male-dominated than it is now. I've seen a vast change in inclusivity among all genders and races over the last 25 years I've been in it. I think it's even longer than that now; I'm aging myself.

How have I navigated it? I have such a unique position within this huge industry that I personally never felt I needed to do anything differently than I've done, just being my authentic self.

But I do feel that I have, and I continue to, voice concerns as a woman in this industry. I might do that. I actually said that today in a session. I didn't like a line, and I said, "I don't like that we're calling him, calling her that," and they changed it.

So, I shouldn't discount myself. I think that it hasn't navigated my career, but I believe every woman in this industry has had a hand in helping to make it more inclusive for everyone. Girls are gamers too.
