Entry-level positions like publicity assistant or secretary are huge if you can land them. Your next step up is a coordinator.
I remember when I got that role, I thought, "I am making it big in life. This is huge!" It's hard to advance from an assistant to a coordinator.
I think I was lacking in internship experience. I just didn't realize in college how important it was. Now it seems so silly that I didn't.
Studios are always taking interns, and agencies, including PR agencies, will always accept help. Media companies are also really great starting points.
I also have to give a shout-out to temp agencies because that's how I got in as a contractor and then made my way into my career. There are definitely an abundance of them, and people are always looking.
