Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college?

Did you have any internships or jobs before your current role?

Absolutely. Thanks for asking that question, Emily. I started my career as an adult with three children, meaning I was a returning college student. My career path involved 18 years at home with my children while I was getting my college degree, completing it at the same time.

Once I decided that I was going to go into the type of work that I currently do, which is in the social and community impact side, I decided that being a part of organizations that connected me with the community was really going to be the strongest way to connect me to the career path I was looking for.

So I did a lot of work with nonprofits, either volunteering or sitting on boards. I also looked at fundraising opportunities that I could support their initiatives and strengthen their mission.
