What do you enjoy most about being in the tech industry?
The tech industry is super fast-paced. Even stuff developed this year compared to last year is constantly evolving rapidly, but it's very innovative. There's stuff around AI that I really geek out about. There's just very cool stuff around AI or how products work.
This can be in anything. I toured a helmet manufacturing company in December and saw how they test helmets. This is for motorcycle or moped helmets to make sure the person doesn't get a brain injury. They tested the helmets with different machines and robotics.
That's one area, one company. Google does really cool stuff, Microsoft is doing cool stuff, and these small companies are doing really cool stuff. That's going to help, hopefully down the line.
Consider an assembly line. How can we make it more efficient or safer, or how can people do jobs better? There's so much really cool stuff going on in tech.
It also opens up a lot of opportunity. You can say, "I want to learn how to code" or "I want to learn about this product." There are just a lot of avenues to go. Tech, if it's not already in an industry, it's going to be soon because that's just how we do work.
We're not pen to paper pretty much in any role anymore. So just knowing how tech works or even having that creative thinking would really help, even if you move out of a tech role. A doctor that knows tech is important because maybe it's their system. Just knowing it helps you figure out any other role.
