Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Did you have any internships or jobs before your current role?
I went to an HBCU, Howard University, which was really affirming. It allowed me to see how diverse Black people can be.
I had two internships, one at Farm Credit Administration and then EY, both in audit before starting my career at EY. A large reason why I chose them is because I felt that my identity was seen.
I started my family at a young age, which led me to different job opportunities in accounting. I got my start in financial reporting at Inspire Brands in 2018, and I haven't been in a reporting role ever since.
