How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
I would definitely say that going back to the soft skills, being outgoing and sociable, connections matter. You want to maintain and grow these relationships.
I think this is for any industry or any role. You never know when you're going to work with these people again. I got my first job out of college because I reached out to my high school mentor, who reached out to his high school mentor.
So you just never know when these connections are going to come back. You just want to keep all of those bridges open, if you will. You have to be very sociable and outgoing, especially since my specific role is very customer service heavy.
