What are the biggest challenges you face in your role?
The challenges are prioritization and time management. There's so much to do and not enough hours in the day. It's important to focus on the highest impact activities and block out everything else that isn't the most critical thing.
It's constantly changing, and that's a big challenge. Along with that is understanding that "perfect is the enemy of good." Given our constraints, it's better to get 80% of the way there and ship it, rather than spending all your time trying to get the perfect thing done.
If you do that, nothing will get done. We don't have enough people, and not enough of them. Learning to be okay with that is really challenging.
The other thing I've found, as this is kind of my first time in a sales-related capacity, is you do hear "no" a fair amount. Getting used to that, trying to overcome it, and having a short memory helps you move on to the next opportunity.
