What do you enjoy most about being in your current role?
Right now, I think my favorite thing is communication with clients. I really like working with people.
Before this, another role I had involved just doing dig drawings and designs. Field engineers would go out and take pictures of an underground excavation, and I’d have to create a drawing from it.
That’s cool, but as a scoping engineer, I really enjoy being able to communicate with clients and work with the team. I grew up playing sports my whole life and being on sports teams.
I feel like that directly correlates to what I do now. If you're not communicating on a sports team, just like if you don't communicate at work, it's hard to get a lot done and be as efficient as possible.
I really like to lead, and in my current role, I feel like I'm able to do that. I can direct conversations and guide others toward the best possible path. That's what I enjoy most right now.
