What is one lesson that you have learned that has proven significant in your career?

One lesson that has proven significant in my career is about going the extra mile in everything I do every day. I think it's related to taking initiative instead of just doing the regular job.

I can say that in my consulting firms, many of the top performers are those who do more compared to their peers. So, I learned that being a person with high initiative can lead to more significant career progress.

It also helps people build better careers. I think this is what easily differentiates one person from another. Typical people in consulting firms don't really take a lot of initiative because their regular job is already demanding.

They don't want to ask for more work from their managers. However, by being initiative and taking on more responsibility, people in consulting firms can become outstanding, regardless of the industry.
