Transcript

What are your main responsibilities in your current role as a senior consultant?

I wear many hats given my extensive experience in recruitment. On the recruitment side, I review applications and guide candidates through the entire hiring process.

This includes phone screening, interviewing, and onboarding. I also handle significant HR work, including compliance and managing sensitive personal documentation like IDs, passports, and Social Security numbers.

I also help individuals obtain certifications in California, as educators and even substitutes need a state permit. I support people through that process.

On a day-to-day basis, I place substitute teachers into various schools as they request them. On the school side of my work, I manage client relationships with school networks.

This includes charter networks, public school districts, and smaller independent networks. I work with over 65 clients, which means I need to know not only the home office contacts but also be in constant communication with principals, school managers, and administrative staff at each campus.

I build strong relationships with these individuals across all campuses. I assess their needs and deliver on immediate, short-term requirements, and more importantly, long-term ones.

This is especially crucial when a teacher goes on leave. I ensure a substitute is available for the duration of their absence.

I also support new business development, which involves marketing and raising awareness about our company. I onboard new clients to ensure they receive the high-quality service they expect.

Internally, I manage junior consultants. My role is to train them to perform all my duties, ideally even better. The goal is to bring on individuals who can surpass your abilities.

I support junior consultants in my immediate area in South LA, as well as in the Inland Empire and the Bay Area. I am now also supporting our work in Texas, which includes Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin.

I also lend a helping hand to our teams in Phoenix and Las Vegas.
