What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
I'm in two industries: finance and entertainment. My clients are primarily on the entertainment side, which is where my background lies.
I enjoy learning, and even in finance, I work on the transaction side, meaning I'm involved in many deals. From both areas, I get to meet interesting people.
I also get to do deep dives into parts of the industry that I might not have known much about. While I have a career in the entertainment industry, I often have clients in specific subsets of that business.
To be an effective investment banker for them, I need to understand their company and their business. This involves a deep dive into their competitors, the ecosystem, and the competitive forces at play.
That's always interesting because I'm always learning. You learn different aspects about a business, even when you think you know the entire industry. No one ever knows everything. So, I enjoy learning various new aspects of my business.
