How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
I'd say someone who is innovative and likes to be at the forefront of change and is future-facing. I think that's someone who can thrive with online retail and e-commerce.
Obviously, if you like shopping online, that's another plus. In addition to e-commerce shopping, there are many different e-commerce companies.
For example, third-party applications allow you to upload items and partner with retailer marketplaces. That's another sector.
Or even working on shipping and logistics, if you're interested in that, that's another sector of e-commerce to dive into. I think succeeding in those different kinds of e-commerce companies would also be based on your interest.
If you are interested in shipping logistics, then you would probably be able to thrive in shipping logistics-based companies. But I think it depends on the role too.
If you like more quantitative analysis, because there are definitely roles where you're analyzing data, then you will succeed in that. But I think just having a general passion for online transactions and the online shopping experience is a good start to succeeding in the online retail space.
