What did you do in undergrad to set you up for success in your career?
During undergrad, I feel I did a good job looking into the types of careers I envisioned myself in. This included examining the positions offered, their pay, and actually reading job descriptions.
In the early stages of applying for student positions or internships, I noticed we tend to focus solely on the title, believing that's what matters. However, a lot of job titles have become more elevated than we might think.
Learning about the organizational structure of companies is also very helpful. It allows you to consider how you can move up within a company and position.
Some people prefer moving from company to company to grow and advance, while others believe staying within the same company is beneficial. As an undergrad, it's important to explore these options.
Familiarizing yourself with this can greatly help with your interview process and decisions after graduation. It helps you decide which company you want to work at and align your life goals with your career. This ensures you're optimizing your life and getting the most out of it. This is something very valuable to do during undergrad.
