What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before entering your industry?
Before I got into medical sales, I wish I had known about the shortcuts some people are able to take. For example, GE has a program for new college graduates called their CLP program, Commercial Leadership Program.
It's like a paid internship, but it really takes about 10 years off the sales process of getting to where I am in my career. They fast-track the people who go into that Commercial Leadership Program.
It's an amazing opportunity. If I had known about it, I would have pursued it vigorously. The people who go into that program have a huge leg up on people who start out fresh in medical sales and have to work their way up to more senior roles like I'm in now. They can basically do it about 10 years faster with that program.
