A lot of it is sales. I have to be a subject matter expert in the products that I sell, but more importantly, you just have to deliver on what you promise.

Do a good job of taking copious notes and getting to know your customers. It's sales 101: finding solutions that'll help them meet their needs. You're acting like an unpaid consultant essentially for your customers.

Having a lot of different solutions available, there are many ways I can impact their imaging program and make it more effective. It's nice having a lot of things I can sell.

As far as the skills you need, you just need to have a capacity to learn and be good at sales, and then you can do it.
