What did you do in college to set you up for success in your career?
I think I took a variety of courses that challenged me, including making sure every quarter to take a PE class. Because I figured, at being in the honors college and also being double-majored in finance and marketing, I had a lot of hard curriculum.
I looked at it and thought the PE class was a way to just blow off steam and try something new. So, I literally took tap dancing, I took skiing, I took stretching one quarter, and circuit training. I just tried out a whole bunch of different stuff.
That was a nice kind of breath of fresh air in my schedule. But also, it showed me that to this day, I ended up teaching my kids how to ski, and I ski to this day. So I look at it and think I got a lot better going every week up to the mountain, regardless of the weather conditions. Learning how to ski with an instructor kind of telling me what to do was beneficial.
