Favorite Parts Of Working In The Legal Industry As A Founder And Business Attorney

Liku enjoys the freedom of not conforming to the traditional lawyer stereotype and defining professionalism on own terms, which allows bringing a unique personality and "own sauce" to the legal industry. This approach is important because it can make attorneys more accessible to a wider range of people, particularly those who might be intimidated by the traditional legal profession but need legal assistance in both business and personal matters.

What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?

The legal industry is interesting. As an attorney, what I enjoy most now is knowing that I don't have to be like the rest of the industry. I don't have to be like the typical lawyer, the lawyer people envision.

I envision growing up straight, white, male, corporate, white-collar, all of that. I don't have to be that. I can show up the way I want to. I can put my own spin on things and come out with my own full personality.

I get to define what professionalism means for me. So my favorite thing is being able to add my own sauce or my own mix to the industry. That's important to me too because not everyone has access to attorneys.

When you see people being themselves, when you see people being human, it makes them think that they can access them easier. Especially people who need attorneys. For me in business, it's a non-negotiable. You need an attorney.

You need to have your ducks in a row just to avoid trouble. You need to stay protected to grow the way you're supposed to. But then on a personal front as well, you want to be able to look to an attorney and feel like you are here with them.

This way, you can feel comfortable going to them for help. So that's what I would say is being able to show up as myself and add my own mix to the industry.
