What does a day in the life of a founder and business attorney look like?

Ooh, which day are we talking about? Generally, I'm an early bird, so I like to take any client calls or consultations in the morning. I'm a very organized person, and I've learned that being a business owner means you need to not just organize your time, but also your energy. So, I get that burst of energy out first.

I take client calls three days a week and consultations two days a week so that I can spread those out and not overwhelm myself. I have a limit on each day; I time block for those calls.

I'm also a mom, a stay-at-home mom with a 1-year-old and a three-and-a-half-year-old. My first job is them, so I very much schedule my business around making sure I'm present for them, taking care of them, meeting their needs, and going to their appointments.

Whenever that's not happening, I have other time blocks to execute my work. This includes drafting contracts, doing research, following trademarks, and making follow-up calls with my clients. And of course, in this day and age of social media, posting on LinkedIn and getting my content out there.

At the end of the day, I really try to wind down because business ownership has taught me about energy management. We need to recoup and practice self-care. We need to rest not just our bodies, but our minds as well. So, that's something I've been intentional about.

Sometimes, when the world is asleep, at random times like 11:30 PM, I might have an idea or a burst of energy and knock out some work, or I might just get some sleep myself.
