Katie also implies that finding satisfaction can be more challenging in higher-level positions as one gets "further removed from the actual work".

How would you describe people who typically thrive in your industry?
There are two ways people thrive. One is by doing positive work. If you're in programs, you'll likely thrive more because you see firsthand what you're doing and have real interactions with families.
In an admin role, you thrive by hearing these stories and seeing your program people in those environments. It's easier to thrive when you're hands-on. The higher up you get, the further removed you become from the actual work.
