What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?

Patagonia is part of the outdoor apparel industry. For me, growing up and even now, when something's on my mind, I go outside to clear my head, gain perspective, and think things through.

Being in an industry that enables and centers around these nature-connecting experiences is a great alignment with my own values and the company's. It's an industry that recognizes the need to take time away and disconnect.

None of us would even have our jobs if nobody was enjoying the outdoors. This cultural agreement is really powerful.

In addition to that, I think everyone who enjoys the outdoors also recognizes the importance of sustainability and ethical decision-making. We are in business and sometimes need to make tough financial decisions, but we also recognize our responsibility.

Our supply chain makes a big impact on the environment, whether it's carbon emissions or labor practices in our factories. Working in an industry that constantly pushes for better, more improved practices is heartwarming.

We are far from perfect, and we all recognize that. It's refreshing to come into the room and agree on that.
