What is your biggest challenge in your role?
My biggest challenge in my role right now is time management. I hired a website developer back in February of last year, and things have been really slow. I thought the website would be up in two months, but it's been over a year now.
There's a lot of going back and forth. At first, we didn't have deadlines established or tasks clearly defined. I can't speak more highly of the power of a plan and a strong contract in place.
Time management and having boundaries with tasks and deadlines are key. It's just me in the business, and my mom helps out sometimes. If I get frustrated and give up, I won't get anywhere.
You have to be in it for the long haul and keep going. If you need clarity on something or if something isn't being done right, you have to confront it. If I let things go by the wayside, it ends up getting worse. You really have to take initiative and confront issues, and things will get a lot better.
