What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate or graduate student might consider?
I would consider substitute teaching. I actually did substitute teaching for a year in two different school districts to see what level I would enjoy teaching.
I also taught adult education for a school district because I wanted to see where I fit in and where my passion was. So, I recommend substitute teaching.
Another possibility is becoming a teacher's aide so that you're in the classroom and can see what happens. As far as teaching, you can also observe the administrative tasks that the teacher has to do.
So, just do something in the classroom. Get in the classroom and see if it's something that you really want to do.
