What skills are most important for a job like yours?

I mentioned this in the last question, but I'll say it again, especially if you missed it or are just jumping around. Communication is the big thing.

It's execution and communication. For example, can you say, "Here's my deadline"? If a task is going to take you three hours, and you're maybe two and a half hours in and realize it's actually going to take five hours, tell someone.

There's no shame in that. It's about communicating what you're doing, where you're doing it, and how it projects forward to everyone around you. Can you also be productive while you're communicating?

Effectively communicating with people is the biggest skill. This also includes brevity, which I admit I can be really bad at, often going on at length.

Instead, you could just say, "Task taking two hours, should have taken one. I'll be there in two." That should really be it. That's succinctness in communication, which is similar to brevity.
