Transcript

What entry-level positions are there in this field that an undergraduate college student might consider?

There are two main entry-level positions. Many large law firms hire legal assistants or paralegals. These roles involve helping with document details.

Often, these positions are for recent college graduates or smart students. They are great opportunities to gain exposure and understand a lawyer's daily work.

Another option is an administrative position. My current admin, for example, was considering a career in law. He gets to see everything I do daily, including correspondence and calendar booking.

Even if the tasks aren't directly legal, he is exposed to the legal profession. These are two common entry-level roles.
