What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
What I like about being a startup lawyer here in Silicon Valley is that you're always exposed to the next new thing. I was a bit of a tech geek as a kid and thought it would be fun to be exposed to new technologies.
That's been true. My practice has evolved from in-home software to Facebook apps, then iPhone apps, and now SaaS software, which is what everyone does. You get to watch all of that evolve.
Often, I'm three to five years ahead of what most people see because I'm seeing these companies get formed. This happens when there are just two people quitting their jobs to start a new startup. That's exciting.
