But what do you enjoy most about being in the education sector?
I've enjoyed working with young people my whole life. After a few years, you never stop getting better, but you start feeling good.
There are so many transferable skills and ways to integrate your passions into the classroom. You can coach a baseball team, get involved with the arts, or help students with college access by setting up meetings with counselors.
As a human being, I love art and having time to myself. Summers off are huge; they give me time to visit family or spend time doing other things I love. I could really dive into those other things.
Lastly, the education industry offers so many transferable skills that you can take into any leadership position. These include cultivating relationships, addressing needs authentically, and equipping people in an empowering way. You can hone in on strengths and build motivation through creating and monitoring goals.
I anticipate being in the classroom for a long time. However, if I were to enter a leadership role, there are many ways to transfer these skills into other contexts.
