Q6: Biggest challenge in your role.
The biggest challenge in my role, and really this is just an attribute of working at a large, highly matrixed organization, is getting all the stakeholders aligned. As I pointed out, I don't work with just one or two teams; it's 10 teams at different points in the process.
I might work closely with one of the implementation teams for a month, then not talk to them for a couple of months, and then have to come back and realign. Anytime you're driving a project through so many different stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization, it can be a challenge.
I think best practices are really just to over-communicate. Constantly follow up if you set a deadline or send reminders if you have a deliverable you're requesting. Then, make sure that likewise, you're always available for them if they need input.
