What skills are most important for a job like yours?

People skills are essential. Even in college, I didn't find them easy. I wasn't someone who could just show up for a final exam and do well. I had to work hard in school because I was easily distracted.

My strong suit is relationships and building them with people. In many industries, this is important, but it's especially true in medical aesthetics. There are places on almost every corner, like restaurants and grocery stores.

If you can't build relationships in this industry, clients will move to the next place. Retaining clients is crucial for practices to succeed. Getting new clients requires significant money, time, and effort.

Building relationships and being likable encourages clients to spend money with your business. I see my clients when I go out to dinner. Tucson is a large city, but I am very good at building relationships, and that has led me to where I am today.

I also don't hesitate with business decisions, including spending money. Money is like a boomerang; it returns what you put out. If you're afraid to spend money in this industry, you won't succeed.

When I started, I funded my business with my corporate salary. I worked with clients on nights and weekends while maintaining my nine-to-five corporate job. For about eight or nine months, I worked 10 to 12 hours a day, plus weekends.

That was a sacrifice and an investment, but it meant I never had business debt. This continued until I started purchasing equipment like CoolSculpting machines and lasers.

You can't doubt yourself. You need to build relationships, be a people person, charismatic, and not shy in this line of work.
