What have you learned about this role that you wish someone had told you before you entered the industry?

That's a great question. I honestly think the number one thing I didn't know going into marketing was just how much opportunity there was for it.

When I graduated, I knew of PR, social media, and advertising. That was kind of the extent of it. There is something for everyone in marketing.

If you are more creative, you can go into the design or copywriting function. If you're more into numbers, maybe marketing operations or performance marketing might suit you better.

There are so many different opportunities available. I never knew about demand generation, B2B versus B2C, or content marketing. So, just keeping your mind open to all the different opportunities and seeing what's out there – that's something I wish I knew.
