What skills are most important for a job like yours?

For my role specifically as a broker, I'd say being relationally driven and open to saying yes is important. As I mentioned previously, being outspoken and an extrovert is also key.

Most of my life, I grew up very introverted. Even when I started this job, I was very introverted and would hate attention on me or talking in front of people.

This position has changed my view on that. Now I feel like I can talk to anyone in person or over the phone. A lot of the work is done over the phone, so being able to text people whenever they need something is crucial.

It's about building personal relationships alongside business. Knowing someone's son's name, their kids' sports, or their favorite team is valuable.

The goal is to use that information in a way that doesn't take advantage of the relationship, but rather benefits both parties positively.
