What are your main responsibilities within your current role?
As an associate, I'm on several different account teams within my agency. On those teams, I serve as the backbone, handling tasks like account management and being the media backbone.
I do a lot of coverage monitoring and general news monitoring. This involves finding coverage on our clients and seeing what's trending in the news. I keep an eye on these trends and figure out how my client can insert their voice into the conversation.
I also look for new reporters I think would be interesting for my client and explore if my client would be interested in meeting them. Additionally, I conduct client research when needed and jump into client asks or whatever my lead asks me to do.
It really depends on the day and what's going on with my client. For example, if we have an announcement coming up, a client might ask us to create a media list to pitch to reporters. My role in that would be researching different reporters and identifying who I think would be a good fit for reporting on the announcement.
At my level, I've also dabbled in pitching a little. So, I'm kind of everywhere, and it just depends on the day and what's going on with my client.
