I think there are multiple ways to thrive. There's a common misconception that if you're working in sales or on the business development side, you need to be a people person.
That's very beneficial if you're an extrovert and you love to talk, but it's really important to listen in this role too. As long as you can listen and truly understand the customer, and then properly convey your point afterwards, I would say that is the most important aspect.
