How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?
Curiosity is really key for people to succeed, whether you're talking about the technology industry or the marketing industry. If you don't have an interest in what's next or where the industry is headed, you'll always be a step behind.
So if you are curious and can push yourself to keep thinking ahead and doing research, you'll definitely be well off. For the technology industry in particular, you get bonus points if you can take something technical and figure out a way to explain it to a ten-year-old or even a five-year-old.
We kind of tend to expect everyone to be a technical expert once we get into the product weeds. Most of our work when we come up with marketing content is really trying to elevate that message. So bonus points to anyone who can easily do that.
