How would you describe people who typically thrive in this industry?

To thrive in this industry, you really do have to be outgoing, and I would say an extrovert, because you are talking to people all day long. I probably talk to ten new people every day.

You're connecting with hiring managers and other departments, so you really have to not be afraid to jump on a call with someone you don't know, or jump on a video call, or interview somebody.

I would also say being passionate, honestly, because as a recruiter, I'm really passionate about the roles I'm recruiting for and willing to bring somebody into the company. That's great.

In turn, really wanting to help somebody find a job is a rewarding feeling when somebody's excited to accept the job offer that you give them.

Finally, I would also say being curious. When you're talking to these candidates, you have to ask open-ended questions, get to know them, and understand why they're looking for a role and what their skills are, so that you can place them in the best position.
