Could you walk me through your career path, starting with your experiences in college? Any internships or jobs you had before your current role?
I started college in 2020, much like a lot of other people. It was right when the pandemic happened, and to be 100% honest, I did not think I was going to go into business. I thought I was going to choose a path in healthcare, but I quickly realized that was not something I wanted to do.
So then I chose business because I wanted something steady, something I could rely on. I decided on marketing specifically because I wanted to be a little more creative.
The opportunities I sought out to prepare me for my future were largely through my school, and also some smaller outside companies. I was a marketing assistant in the multicultural office at my college and a marketing assistant in the business school. I also wrote for the school newspaper and was a TV news writer for a small entertainment magazine. Finally, I was the public relations chair for the Women in Business club at my college.
