What do you enjoy most about being in your industry?
In my industry, we're in finance, but my company is a management company. We buy and sell smaller companies, similar to private equity.
The private equity sector has $5 trillion in assets under management. What I enjoy most about this industry is the huge opportunity for strategic influence. You can make significant changes in areas like sustainable investing.
As head of ESG, I focus on what we're investing in today to create a better future. This includes investing in innovation and growth, backing companies that are disrupting and innovating in their own industries.
My company invests in consumer branded companies, industrial companies, and healthcare companies. There's a large opportunity to influence these industries to innovate and grow, especially in emerging markets.
We can also drive corporate governance, improving the overall performance of these companies. This includes enhancing education, healthcare, and transparency in how businesses operate and what society can expect from the industry.
