As someone who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ community, how has that impacted how you navigate your career?
For the LGBTQ+ community, we always have a community that connects with each other. For example, RUMBA is a conference just for MBAs from the LGBTQ+ community.
When I go with RUMBA, there will be many employers looking for us and our opinions on how they can develop their LGBTQ+ diversity programs. With that, we can navigate and gain more insights from those target firms.
From my experience when recruiting for top consulting firms, I was invited to all their events and had extra time to ask extra questions. I believe that has been one of the critical connections in my career.
